My name is Robyn Statum, and I am currently a senior at Utah State University majoring in Public Relations. I am currently working with Charity Anywhere on a project in Port de Ponce, Haiti. In partnership with True Blue Communications, we are raising funds for an orphange that was devastated in the earthquake.
I am orginally from California, but raised in Mississippi. When I was 13, I discovered my passion for travelling and learning about other cultures. I have travelled all over Asia and Ireland. I also lived in Taiwan for about 7 1/2 months teaching English in Changhua.
I found my niche for public relations as I was working for the Girl Scout Council of Middle Mississippi. Being a Marketing Membership Manager brought challenges and rewards. I worked with girls and parents from all different backgrounds. I especially enjoyed providing programs for the inner city and rural school districts.
I thrive in public relations because there is always something happening-there is never a dull moment. I enjoy new challenges and experiences.
